Remember your roots and honor your loved ones . . . the Blessings Tree
Lowman United Methodist Church recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of our sanctuary. While it is a time for celebration, it is also a time for reflection. As our facility ages, we must look at the condition of this area as well as what is needed to bring it up-to-date. The sanctuary update will include replacing the carpet and pew fabric, improving the sound system and developing an area for the technology persons to operate more efficiently. A major project means major expenses and the church needs a way to pay for them without incurring additional debt.
We chose to use a "Blessing Tree" as a fundraiser for our sanctuary project. The basic tree was donated by the Lowman Memorials Committee in memory of loved ones. Wendy Smith, chair of the Worship Team, created a poster and brochure. Her husband Gregg crafted the tree. He spent countless hours creating and building this beautiful work of art.
The Blessings Tree is “growing” on the south wall next to the chapel. We invite you to participate in our Blessings Tree by donating a leaf or stone to be engraved with your special message of remembrance or congratulations. Create unique messages for births, christenings, birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, in memory and more. All donations will be used for sanctuary projects. You may choose to give a leaf for $250 or a foundation stone for $2,5000.
Call 785-272-8921, email us at lowman@lowmanumc.org, or stop by the church to pick up a form with more information or to leave your inscription. May checks payable to Lowman United Methodist Church.
